Vector Forum June 05, 2008 in Stuttgart (Germany)

The Vector Forum 2008 was held in Stuttgart on the topic "functional safety" on 05. June. Close to 100 managers from industry and Experts from vector Consulting Services me for a half-day exchange of experiences. Industry presentations and discussions centered on questions such as "How to implement functional safety?" and "What experiences can we share across companies?"

Safety-relevant issues are increasingly relevant for E/E engineering and must be addressed both efficienty and effectively. Functional safety was addressed by six presentations done by Airbus, BMW, Continental, Hella, Kanzlei Dr. Erben and Vector Consulting Services. Industry experts provided their own experiences how to introduce and assure functional safety in E/E engineering. Standards IEC 61508 and ISO 26262 were underlined from both an economic perspective as well as how to sustainably achieve a safety culture.

Until late in the evening participants discussed this hot topic during a dinner and evaluated challenges and solutions from their various perspectives.

Are you interested in the presentations and our services on functional safety (e.g., introduction of IEC 61508 and ISO 26262, systematic implementation, safety architectures and design, etc.)? Then send us a brief mail with your needs and suggestions.
